Easter Sunday: How does Easter and Spirituality mix?

Written by Ines Maria:

Happy Easter! Easter Sunday changes every year depending on when the first full moon after the Spring Equinox occurs. It is the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the hope of salvation within humankind.  Christians who use and benefit from crystals and herbs believe that God placed healing powers and resources inside of herbs and crystals in order for people to use them to heal and grow. What's important to remember is that crystals and herbs are part of God's creations. You can use them to strengthen your connection not only within yourself, but with God as well.

Crystals and Christianity

There a few different crystals and herbs that are mentioned in the Bible. For example, there are 12 gemstones that were gifted to Moses from the Mountain of God on a breast plate. They were used to connect and communicate to God. These gemstones are carnelian, chrysolite, emerald, turquoise, sapphire, amethyst, jacinth, agate, clear quartz, beryl, lapis lazuli, and jasper. There were twelve stones with their names according to the names of the sons of Israel, or the twelve tribes.

What I found interesting is the same way in New Age Spirituality that people will use crystals in order to connect and communicate to their angels or spirit guides, this is how they were also used back then to connect and communicate to God.

If there's any stone that would be associated with Jesus Christ, it would definitely be bloodstone. Apparently while being crucified, Jesus had green jasper at his feet which was stained with dripping blood. This is the origin of bloodstone. This stone is now used to increase courage, motivation, and creative energy. It is also used to cleanse and realign the lower chakras with the heart.

Herbs and Christianity

As for herbs, Frankincense and Myrrh are two that are associated with Jesus Christ. They were gifted to Jesus when he was a baby. Myrrh is known for its uplifting and energizing properties. It represented his humanity. Since Myrrh is used in a mixture of spices that helps prepares bodies for burial, it is foreshadowed that being gifted this herb was in correlation that we would save and die for his people. The way this herb is used today is that it support skin health and can help heal sores. It can also used as an antioxidant.

Frankincense reflected his divinity and worship. It was highly valued. It was also used in temple routines and burned ceremonially by priests. The way Frankincense is used today is for the healing benefits it provides today to help ease stress, boost immune function, and relieve pain.
